Word Art 

Exhibition brief:

Words and text are used daily to communicate ideas, just as artists employ material to propose notions in art. This exhibition will bring together a group of artists who question the intersection between writing and art. Word Art aims to question the delineation between writing and art and examine how intrinsic the written or oral word is to many art practices.



Applications now open: Applications are now open to artists working in any medium whose practice involves the use of either written or oral text to participate in this upcoming group exhibitionwhich will be exhibited 29 June – 15 July 2018.

Exhibition fees: 
Participation fee $50 per work. (Works larger than 1m may incur a higher fee. Please contact gallery assistant for details)

To apply: Applications should consist of images of the works to be submitted along with an artist statement, and emailed to Kathleen at

Application deadline:
EXTENDED Applications close Sunday 10 June at midnight. 

Exhibition dates:
29 June – 15 July 2018.

Opening night: 
Friday 29 June 6 – 9pm.

Gallery commission: 
Brunswick Street Gallery takes a 25% commission on all sold works.
