Line communicates the ideas that underpin this body of work. Its strong aesthetic moves through Taylor’s practice, speaking from the surfaces she paints, carves into and drapes from.
Line connects to a dialogue with nature, the tactile feel of textiles, the movement of wheel-throwing and her South Asian & British heritage. Line conveys a visual dance on the ceramic surfaces, leading the eye through the swirls, spins and unraveling, as the line is set free.
Line is a Language is a pottery exhibition showcasing wheel thrown wall sculptures, flower vessels and tableware. Ideas for this body of work began in the Melbourne covid lockdowns.
This exhibition is presented as part of Craft Contemporary 2022.
