Domestic
D.M. Ross
7–24 March 2024

Domestic explores the commonplace found in D.M. Ross’ domestic environment; chairs, lamps, rugs, fences, awnings, hallways, bikes, both interior and exterior.  These paintings depict the things the artist sees every day, but are abstracted, simplified,  distorted,  exaggerated and rendered in the vibrant colour typical of his style.

Despite having no formal art education or training D.M. Ross began painting to satisfy a creative urge. He has now been painting for more than 30 years.

D.M. Ross took a particular affinity for Cubism and reinterpreted it in a unique and wholly identifiable way, including snatches of Fauvism and Impressionism.

D.M. Ross’ artwork is held in many private collections in Australia and abroad.

Please join us for a drink to celebrate the opening of Domestic on Friday 8 March (6–8PM).
